Class Questions/Ideas #1

When you read about a certain article when can you believe that it is true? When I read about an article i find it much easier to believe when the story is clear and precis. If the story is detailed but not over exaggerated then I would approve and assume that what was written was truth.

When a person comes to you and tells you a story, can you trust them? I believe that if the person telling the story is reliable and trustworthy then yes! I would probably believe the story I am being told. I do still strongly believe that the information given to me should sound right to me, along with detail as well. Also if the person were to have a source then the story can be more reliable. If they say "Oh I herd from a friend, who thinks..." then find out if there is accurate information to back up the story.

A great way to find out if a story, article, ad, campaign etc. is to do some research! The web, books, encyclopedias are also great ways to gather up more information on the story. If you find a good amount of information that you think you can base yourself on then that is great if not and you were finding different answers, the story was changed, or no information at all then you should clearly know that you were not told the complete truth.

You should always find sources to make sure that the media is true, because you can never be to sure !

  1. as to your last statement- sources and media are the same thing... I think its to get a variety of different media, and media types (i.e. many different sources) that allows for the truth to emerge.
